FINISH IT FOR FALL
Through September 30
Twice a year we encourage you to finish up your works-in-progress before the new season: knit that second sock or sleeve, pick up a neckband and weave in your ends! You'll get to enjoy your summer pieces while the weather is still warm, and free up your needles and hooks for a new fall project.WORKSHOPS with Amy Snell
MONDAYS, 5-8 pm
Take your knitting to the next level and have some fun while you're at it! Amy Snell is a fantastic instructor who makes even the most complex techniques approachable. We're delighted to offer three life-changing workshops this fall:
Basic Knit Fixes
September 29

Uh-oh, there’s something wrong with your knitting! Never fear, almost everything in knitting can be fixed. In this class, you’ll learn how to “read” your knitting to identify problems, what causes issues like accidental holes and unintentionally expanding knitting, and how to fix common problems like dropped or twisted stitches. You’ll learn how to tink, how to frog, and how to know which one to do when. You’ll learn how and when to use lifelines, and a few other tips and tricks along the way!
Beginner: suitable for those who can cast on, bind off, knit and purl. Register online.
Cooler Cast Ons, Better Bind-Offs
October 26

Different projects benefit from different techniques in casting on and binding off: sometimes you need a firm bind-off, and sometimes a stretchy one. Sometimes you want to cast on provisionally, or using two colors, or in ribbing. In this class we’ll explore new ways to cast on and bind off and share tips to improve your technique on your old favorites.
Learn how the long tail cast on can work in knit and purl, how to keep your bind offs from drawing in, and an easer way to cast on for toe-up socks.
Advanced Beginner/Early Intermediate: Students should be able to cast on, bind off, knit, and purl. Register online.
Fun with Mosaic: Fizzy Drinks Coasters
November 30

This is the pattern that breaks all the rules! Make fun color patterns without carrying more than one yarn; don’t weave in a single end, even if you are working in 10 colors; cut up your knitting without fear! Fizzy Drinks is the perfect way to learn mosaic knitting and to plunge into felting fun.
You'll learn the basics of mosaic knitting, how to work mosaic patterning, and important rules for color choice and combination that applies to all types of colorwork. You'll also learn how to hand-felt knitted objects.
Required Skills: Students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. Register online.
