Class Cancellation Policy

By signing up for a class at Uncommon Threads, you agree to abide by our Class Registration & Cancellation Policy.

1. You can register for private lessons, classes, and workshops in person in our store, over the phone at 650-941-1815, or online at www.uncommonthreadsyarn.com. Lessons, classes, and events are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Payment in full is required in advance for ALL private lessons, classes, and workshops unless payment plans are offered by the shop.
3. Private Lessons & Ongoing Classes: If you must cancel, please do so before the shop’s prior day’s close of business to receive a store credit only for the lesson/class fee. Keep in mind that we are closed on Mondays, so if you have a Tuesday lesson or class, you must cancel by Sunday close of business.  Make up sessions are not always offered. If they are offered, they will only be scheduled at the instructor’s discretion.
4. Special Workshops/Guest Teacher Events: Cancellations for special workshop/guest teacher events are accepted up to 2 weeks prior for 100% refund as store credit only. Cancellations received after 2 weeks but up to 72 hours before the event will receive a 50% refund as store credit. Cancellations received less than 72 hours before the event are non-refundable but you may transfer your registration to a friend at no charge. If you do transfer, please do so by the close of business prior to the event (taking into account our Monday closures). 
5. Your registration is not considered canceled or transferred until you speak with a staff member or receive a notification via email or phone.
6. Cancellations or no shows the day of any private lesson, ongoing class, or workshop are non-refundable.  
7. Classes may be canceled in the event of insufficient sign-ups (less than 3 students) - if we cancel a class you will be notified prior by phone & will be given a full refund or the option to take the class at a future date.
8. If you are taking a multi-session class and cannot make a session,  please contact us immediately so that we can inform your instructor.
9. Please arrive at class 5 minutes early and ready to begin and prepared with your class materials in hand. Classes begin on time and we can’t accommodate late arrivals.

Please purchase any class materials in advance.  We will happily help in the shop or online or over the phone!  If you need to shop the day of the event, please arrive early to purchase and have your yarn wound if necessary.

We prefer that class materials are purchased from Uncommon Threads, but if you are using materials purchased elsewhere, please ensure that it meets the class materials guidelines.
